Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My grandson is 13 months old. In the past month he s had two episodes of what I believe to be constipation. His stomach is extended and hard. He pushes and strains trying to poop and he cries and rolls on the floor. He has had a fever each time. The onset is very sudden. He had a normal bowel movement this morning and then the screaming and straining for almost three hours. Once he does finally go it s foamy.; full of bubbles. My questions are; is this normal stool for a child and is there a possibility of something more serious happening?

How Can severe Constipation be Treated?
Hi, Yes, this could be serious and could be anything including an obstruction. You have to take him to a pediatrician asap. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
